What is your return policy?
A standard model mouthpiece (or backbore or top) can be returned. It must be in new condition (no exceptions). The buyer must pay return shipping plus a $45 restocking fee ($25 for backbores and tops). Return shipping must be by USPS Priority or USPS International Priority Mail. The customer will receive a refund (price paid for the item minus restocking fee) within 48 hours of delivery of the returned item, if the item is confirmed to be in satisfactory condition. Customer satisfaction is our highest priority, however this strict return policy is necessary in order to keep our prices low. Unfortunately, some people buy mouthpieces just to try them, with no intention of keeping them. Once returned, these mouthpieces must then be sold at a discount as 'demo' or 'used' pieces. The restocking fee is meant to discourage this. However, we will work with serious buyers to the extent possible to make sure in advance that your questions are answered and you are comfortable that you are purchasing a mouthpiece that will be satisfactory to you!
Custom designs (mouthpieces, tops, and backbores) are final sales and cannot be returned or refunded for any reason due to the personalized nature of these pieces.

How do I choose a Legends mouthpiece?
As easy as 1 - 2- 3: Start by choosing a rim and cup. The rim specs and cup depths for each Legends Brass model are listed here. Determine what the inside diameter and cup depth are on the mouthpiece you currently play. Using the catalog, find models with the same inside diameter, and those in a range of .015" larger and .015" smaller. You may find models in the Legends Brass Catalog with specs similar to the mouthpiece you currently play, or one you'd like to try. Keep in mind that rim width, undercut and cup depth can change the way a mouthpiece feels to the player. For example, a wider rim helps keep your chops out of the mouthpiece, making the cup feel deeper. On the other hand, if the rim has undercut (a drop area just inside the rim going into the cup) it will make the cup feel deeper because your chops will not be as crowded by the rim. In the most general of terms, smaller inside rim diameters and more shallow cup depths are used for upper register and solo/lead playing, while larger inside rim diameters and deeper cup depths are used for darker, more mellow and blended sound, such as with jazz or symphonic music. Next consider your backbore. Go to our Backbores page for a description of each of our backbores. In the most general of terms, tighter backbores are used for a brighter sound, with more sizzle, and more open backbores are used for a more mellow, or jazz sound. Lastly, choose your blank. Go to our blanks page for a description of each blank available. Again in the most general terms, lighter mouthpieces are generally used for upper register and solo/lead playing. Heavier mouthpieces are used for more blended, orchestral and/or jazz playing. Obviously, each player is different and his or her playing will be affected differently be each element of the mouthpiece. Standard models are the best place to start. Custom designs are usually for the more advanced player who knows his or her own specific needs.
