The Legends JF was inspired by a famous mouthpiece played by the legendary Jon Faddis. Renowned trumpet performer, conductor, composer, and educator, Mr. Faddis has entertained audiences and influenced countless emerging trumpet players for over 40 years. The JF rim is very comfortable, and paired with a medium shallow cup. Legends Brass has paired it with a #27 throat and the Legends T (tight) backbore. As Mr. Faddis prefers a heavy mouthpiece, the Legends JF is kept in stock in our heavyweight blank. Combining a shallow cup and tight backbore with the extra mass of the heavyweight blank enhances upper register playing, while maintaining plenty of core of sound and ease of slotting.
