This mouthpiece was inspired by a famous Jet-Tone rim and cup. Consistent with the Jet-Tone naming system, the 'D' rim is slightly more narrow that the A-C rims. The highest point of this rim is closer to the inside than on the others. It is a very comfortable rim for the player. The cup is medium deep, comparable to a Bach C. The entrance to the throat is open so it yields plenty of air flow and a nice big sound. The Legends JT blank is a perfect balance: enough mass to enhance slotting with a big core, but not so much mass that the sound won't sizzle! Although this design was inspired by a Jet-Tone piece, this is not a copy! This piece has the Legends enhanced throat (#27), throat cylinder length, and the Legends S backbore. This model can be used for both legit and lead playing. Slotting and intonation are excellent.
