Here are some specs on this piece: JT B
This mouthpiece was inspired by a famous Jet-Tone mouthpiece loaned to me by Mr. Alan Wise. Alan played with Maynard Ferguson for many years, and played this mouthpiece in the legendary Maynard Ferguson band (see pictures of comparison and nice letter from Mr. Wise). This piece has a semi-flat rim with some nice undercut and a traditional Jet-Tone style cup. The rim just melts into the cup, making it feel bigger than the .640" inside diameter. The cup is medium shallow. The entrance to the throat is open so it yields plenty of air flow for a nice big sound. The Legends JT blank is a perfect balance: enough mass to enhance slotting with a big core, but not so much mass that the sound won't sizzle! And slotting with the JT B is definitely excellent. Although the Legends JT B was inspired by the mouthpiece described above, it is not a copy. The Legends JT B has the Legends enhanced throat (#27), throat cylinder length, and the Legends S backbore. This mouthpiece is perfect for legit, lead, or any style of playing.
