The Legends RM 16S was inpired by a vintage Rudy Muck Cushion Rim 16S. The original brochure from 1937 describes the legendary cushion rim as "the most comfortable feature of any mouthpiece in the field today". It helps relieve pressure, prevents hinderance of blood circulation in the lips, and keeps the lips from slipping, even when wet. Over 75 years later, this is still one of the most comfortable rims available. Rudy Muck cushion rim mouthpieces have become indispensible for mariachi players who seek great projection and comfort through extended playing.
Along with the cushion rim, the Legends RM 16S has a bowl shaped cup and the Legends enhanced throat. It has been fitted with our tightest backbore, the Manhattan, which has great focus and nice resistance. This backbore is specifically geared for extended performances and all night gigs. This model is kept in stock in the Las Vegas Showroom blank, which is geared toward maximum efficiency and projection. This mouthpiece is a masterpiece of comfort and playability!

Rudy Muck came from a long line of musical instrument craftsmen. His ancestors had been making instruments as far back as 1875 in Austria. Rudy became an apprentice in his father's New York shop at the age of eight. He learned to play the trumpet during these early years, and by age 12 was playing in B.F. Keith's band.
